Project coordination and management, validation in relevant environments through CIPACK shelf-life and food safety studies, and assessment of the optimal end-of-life scenarios for the developed structures.

Development of biobased polymeric coatings containing cellulose nanocrystals (CNC).

Validation of metal packaging coated with environmentally friendly coatings.

Coatings for paper-based substrates suitable for fresh deli foods.

Assessment of the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of the packaging solutions.

Development of metal packaging coated with SSICA’s low-impact solutions, both in terms of environmental footprint and worker safety.

Support in the selection of recyclable materials and in the end-of-life management of polymeric, metallic, and paper-based coated materials.

Supply of tinplate lids (Easy Open) and bottoms (Open Top), passivated without hexavalent chromium and coated with organic films.

Selection and supply of paper substrates suitable for coating application and execution of suitability tests for the packaging of cured meats and fresh deli products.

This project is funded by the European Funds of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
